“Preparations have gone well. Apart from a few foreign players and young players, I am already familiar with many of them, so the adaptation process did not take long. We (the coaching staff) have given clear instructions and are building the team according to Selangor FC’s style and character. Throughout training, the players have shown great spirit and that is beautiful. I hope the players can translate their motivation into the match later. In addition, I hope we can get off to a positive start tonight by delivering a victory for the supporters, and we will strive to be the best team for them,” he hopes.
In terms of player availability, six players remain sidelined for this match: Sharul Nazeem (ACL injury), Samuel Somerville (broken toe), Izwan Yuslan (clavicle injury), Sikh Izhan (broken wrist), Harith Haiqal (meniscus injury), Alvin Fortes (gingivitis) and Raimi Shamsul (quad injury).
Meanwhile, two loan players; Safuwan Baharudin and Alexander Agyarkwa along with the Red Giants’ new signing, Mahamé Siby, have fully followed the squad schedule and are likely to be featured to bring home all three points tonight.
Alongside newly appointed head coach Kim Pan-gon, the Red Giants have brought in a new team Performance Analyst, Lee Soonseok. He will work closely with the coaching staff and team officials to support Kim Pan-gon in achieving the team’s goals this season.
